Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 14, 2026
At Gigglade Share, we believe that privacy is a fundamental human right. Our architecture is designed from the ground up to ensure we know absolutely nothing about you or the files you share. We cannot read your files, we do not track your transfers, and we do not harvest your data.
1. Zero-Knowledge Architecture
Gigglade Share utilizes a peer-to-peer (P2P) architecture powered by WebRTC. When you share a file, a direct, encrypted tunnel is established between your device and the recipient's device.
We do not store your files. Because the transfer happens directly between peers, your files never touch our servers, databases, or cloud storage infrastructure. Even if we wanted to view your files, it is mathematically and technically impossible for us to do so.
2. End-to-End Encryption (E2EE)
Every byte of data transmitted through Gigglade Share is secured using military-grade End-to-End Encryption. The encryption keys are generated locally on your device and are never transmitted to our signaling servers. The only entity capable of decrypting the file is the intended recipient who possesses the corresponding Room PIN.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
Unlike traditional tech companies, our privacy policy is defined by what we do not collect:
- No Personal Information: We do not require accounts, emails, phone numbers, or passwords.
- No File Metadata: We do not know the names, sizes, or types of files you are transferring.
- No IP Tracking: We do not log the IP addresses of users communicating through our signaling server.
- No Advertising Trackers: We do not use third-party marketing trackers, tracking pixels, or cross-site cookies.
4. Information We Temporarily Process
To facilitate the peer-to-peer connection, our WebSocket signaling server temporarily processes ephemeral connection data (SDP offers/answers and ICE candidates). This data is heavily encrypted, stored strictly in volatile RAM, and is immediately destroyed the moment the connection is established or the browser is closed. It is never written to disk.
5. Local Storage and Technical Cookies
To provide a seamless user experience, Gigglade Share may utilize your browser's Local Storage or strictly necessary cookies. This is used exclusively for saving non-identifiable UI preferences (such as Dark Mode/Light Mode settings) or temporarily storing your Active Room PIN to prevent disconnection upon accidental page refreshes. This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to us.
6. Third-Party Services
In rare cases where a direct peer-to-peer connection cannot be established (e.g., due to restrictive corporate firewalls or strict NATs), Gigglade Share may utilize third-party TURN servers to relay encrypted packets. Even during a relay, the data remains End-to-End Encrypted. The relay server acts merely as a blind conduit and cannot decrypt or inspect the payload.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our operations. Because we do not collect contact information, we cannot notify you via email. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Gigglade Share after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
