Cookie Policy
Last Updated: August 14, 2026
At Gigglade Share, we believe in radical transparency and data minimization. This Cookie Policy explains how and why we use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like Local Storage) when you visit our platform.
1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and provide technical data to the site owners.
Local Storage is a more modern web technology that works similarly to cookies but allows websites to store data directly in your browser without sending it back to the server with every request. Gigglade Share primarily relies on Local Storage rather than traditional cookies to protect your privacy.
2. How We Use Cookies
We classify our cookies and Local Storage usage into specific categories. Currently, Gigglade Share strictly minimizes its use of these technologies to ensure your absolute privacy.
A. Strictly Necessary (Essential) Technologies
These technologies are essential for the Gigglade Share platform to function. You cannot opt out of these as the service will break without them.
- Room State Persistence: We use Local Storage (via Zustand) to temporarily remember your Active Room PIN. This ensures that if you accidentally refresh the page, you don't lose your secure connection tunnel.
- UI Preferences: We store your preference for Light Mode or Dark Mode locally on your device so the screen doesn't blind you upon your next visit.
B. Analytics and Tracking (None by Default)
Unlike other platforms, we do not use aggressive third-party analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) to track your mouse movements, IP address, or sharing habits. We do not want to know what you are doing.
C. Advertising Cookies (For Basic Tiers)
In the future, our basic/free tier may be supported by display advertising. If you are using a tier supported by ads, third-party advertising partners may place cookies on your browser to deliver relevant advertisements and measure ad performance. If you upgrade to a premium subscription, these advertising cookies will be entirely disabled.
3. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have full control over your browser data. You can configure your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.
However, please note that if you disable Local Storage in your browser, the Gigglade Share room interface will not function properly, and you will not be able to establish a secure peer-to-peer connection.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy occasionally as we add new premium features or modify our advertising models. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
